This is often followed by several other questions along the lines of:
Who needs my services?
How do I get them to notice me?
Do I have to be active on every social media platform?
Where do I start with all of this?
I Get It
I know how you feel because I had all of these questions myself when I first set up my virtual assistant business. For a while, I floated around blindly doing some research and trying one technique until I would get distracted by the next shiny object and decide that I had to try that.
How I Started with My Online Marketing
I tried some things. And they didn’t work. Some were just not good ideas while, with others, I didn’t try it long enough to get results. I’d get some interest in my services here and there but there was no consistency with leads or prospective clients.
I spent quite some time trying to figure things out on my own with mixed results. Then I found some really smart people and started modeling what they did. I also got more consistent with what I was doing. Then you know what happened?
I started getting clients! And leads–people who were interested in my services and how I could help them. The techniques that I used (and still use today) are no big secret, but you have to actually do them and be consistent about it. You have to know what they are and figure out the combination that works best for you and your business.
